DGIS 5.1 Release Notes (7/14/2024)

Administration Required

The changes included in this release are estimated to have a potentially large impact on DGIS systems and DGIS administrator responsibilities. Actions required may vary depending on materials and regulations used within your DGIS system. Please see below for more details.

Any templates or parts that include UNIDs with changes in this document may need to be updated after 7/14/2024 with the revised materials.

DGIS Content

Update Highlights – This release will include regulatory updates to the DGLs, DGAs, Packing Instructions, Variations, and any other type of regulatory content for Q2 2024. Listed below are examples of key changes:

  • ADR
    • Updated ADR DGL based on 2023 English ADR Corrigendum 4 changes.
  • IATA
    • Updated the DGL Column Descriptions in the DGA according to the 2024 IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, 65th Edition.
    • Updated Class 1, Class 2, Class 3 & Division 6, Division 4 & 5, Class 8, and Class 9 Packing Instructions according to the 2024 IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, 65th Edition.
    • Updated State Variations other than the U.S. according to 2023 IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, 64th Edition & 2024 IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, 65th Edition.
    • Updated U.S. State Variations according to 2024 IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, 65th Edition.
    • Shipper's Declaration Form- Change 'Subsidiary Risk' to 'Subsidiary Hazard'.
  • IMDG
    • Updated the Maritime DGL and DGA pages according to IMO’s December 2023 Errata and Corrigenda.
  • TDG
    • DGL and DGA updates according to TDG SOR/2023-155 Amendment.
  • FedEx
    • Updated FedEx Ground Fields for 49CFR Hazardous Materials from the recently published FedEx Ground table dated December 14, 2023.
    • Updated the FedEx Operator Variations based on the 2024 IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, 65th Edition.
    • Removed FX-05 Warning for UN3090.

DGIS Functionality

Functionality improvements -This release will include DGIS functionality improvements, administrative functionality changes, along with bug fixes for Q2 2024. Listed below are examples of key changes:

  • Parts
    • Part Search - Return all Parts when a user searches for a Part, regardless of material availability, all Parts in active status that meet the search criteria will be returned also including those with empty materials.
    • Fixed time out issue when creating/editing parts with a large number of child parts.
  • Options
    • View Company Addresses - Can be enabled/disabled in Options. User will have unrestricted access to all Addresses in the Company regardless of Location assignment. (Enterprise feature only.)

Bug fixes - While there are several bug fixes in this release, a list of highlighted bug fixes can be found below.

  • ADR
    • Fixed ADR CMR 'Paper' Inner Packaging Type Causing Empty Field and Shipment Failure for Non-English Primary Language and English Secondary Language.
  • IMDG
    • Corrected Maritime Segregation Code SG28 (Package) Compatibility Error Validation for Materials Assigned SGG2 Combinations.
    • Fixed Maritime Warning message for IMDG Code 7.2.7 displaying twice.
    • Fixed error message when Default Value for Port of discharge (maritime) exceeds 50 characters. 
  • Parts
    • Fixed issue for specific IMDG materials unable to be added to parts.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Fixed Consignee name not clearing when Clearing the Filters for History.
