DGIS 5.5 Release Notes (10/20/25)

The changes included in this release are estimated to have a potentially large impact on DGIS systems and DGIS administrator responsibilities. Actions required may vary depending on materials and regulations used within your DGIS system. Please see below for more details.

Any templates or parts that include UNIDs with changes in this document may need to be updated after 10/19/2025 with the revised materials.

DGIS Content

Update Highlights – This release will include regulatory updates to the DGLs, DGAs, Packing Instructions, Variations, and any other type of regulatory content for Q4 2025. Listed below are examples of key changes:

• 49 CFR
  • Made necessary changes to PHMSA’s Hazardous Materials: Liquefied Natural Gas by Rail (HM-264) Notification of Conforming Amendments Final Rule in the DGL.
• AFMAN
  • Updated Special Provisions P1 through 325 in the DGA.
  • Updated Special Provisions 326 through N95 in the DGA.
  • Updated DGA with changes to the Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, Class 5, Class 6, Class 8 and Class 9 Packing Instructions. 
  • Updated DGL. 

DGIS Functionality

Functionality improvements -This release will include DGIS functionality improvements along with bug fixes for Q4 2025. Listed below are examples of key changes:

• Overall Program Updates
  • Removed the requirement of having to select a "Material Profile" or "Part number" when creating a Custom Rule.
  • Added "Material Profile" and "Part number" as a selection option to the If criteria when creating a Custom Rule.
  • Added Hazard Class as a selection option to the If criteria when creating a Custom Rule.
  • Added a new "Shipment Audit" feature that allows for a mandatory quality check process associated with a single Shipment. It comprises one or more Checklists and requires formal approval by a designated Approver before the Shipment can proceed to printing.
    • Note: This feature is available upon demand and is for Enterprise subscribers only. Please contact Technical Support if you want the "Shipment Audit" feature enabled for your Enterprise account. 

Bug Fixes - While there are a number of bug fixes in this release, a list of highlighted bug fixes can be found below.

• Miscellaneous
  • Fixed the ability to view the Parts Material Regulation section on the View Parts screen when a Part has just one regulation and one material.
  • Fixed the Unhandled Exception error when the Complete Shipment button is clicked on multiple times.
