DGIS 4.5 Release Notes (1/2/22)

Minimal Administration Required

The changes included in this release are estimated to have a potentially minimal impact on DGIS systems and DGIS administrator responsibilities. Actions required may vary depending on materials and regulations used within your DGIS system. Please see below for more details.

Any templates or parts that include UNIDs with changes in this document may need to be updated after October with the revised materials.

 

DGIS Content

Update Highlights – This release will include regulatory updates to the DGLs, DGAs, Packing Instructions, Variations, and any other type of regulatory content for Q4 2021. Listed below are examples of key changes:

  • ADR
    • Corrected typographical errors in the last sentence of Special Packing Provision PP97 
  • IATA
    • Updated the IATA Dangerous Goods List per the 2022 IATA DGR,  63rd Ed. 
    • Updated the IATA Dangerous Goods Advisor (DGA) per the 2022 IATA DGR, 63rd Ed. 
    • Updated the existing IATA Hazard Class definitions displayed in the DGA. 
    • Updated the Packing Instruction changes to Classes/Divisions 1 thru 4 & 5 thru 9 for the IATA DGA.
    • Updated the Packing Instruction Variation changes to Classes/Divisions 1 thru 4, 5 thru 6, and 8 & 9.
    • Updated the existing IATA Operator Variations.
    • Updated the existing IATA State Variations.
    • Updated the existing IATA State Variations list for five territories that adhere to U.S. State Variation requirements.  These five territories are American Samoa, Guam, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • UPS Domestic
    • Updated the UPS Domestic Dangerous Goods List per UPS Domestic Chemical Table revisions Oct 2021.

DGIS FunctionalityFunctionality improvements 

  • Maritime
    • User entered Net Mass will auto-update when Inner Packaging Unit of Measure is changed. 
    • Added user option to print blue hash marks for the IMO form. 
    • Added Electronic Signature for Maritime shipments.

Bug Fixes - While there are several bug fixes included in this release, a list of highlighted bug fixes can be found below.

  • FedEx
    • Fixed DGIS Certifications printing one shipment per page. 
  • IATA
    • Fixed the auto-calculate tool for calculating the Total Net Explosive Quantity when shipping two or more Class1 materials, each having more than one identical package. 
    • Fixed 1B not appearing on form when shipment contains an Overpack and is printed in Columnar format.
  • UPS
    • Fixed DGIS Certifications printing one shipment per page. 
  • Miscellaneous
    • Fixed blank ERG pages for UN3528 so that the appropriate information is visible.
    • Fixed missing Emergency Response Guide subsection link for UN1950 with Hazard Class 2.2 so that it is now visible in the Related Documents section.
    • Added Error message to shipments containing an Empty Overpack.
