The changes included in this release are estimated to have a potentially minimal impact on DGIS systems and DGIS administrator responsibilities. Actions required may vary depending on materials and regulations used within your DGIS system. Please see below for more details.

Update Highlights – This release will include regulatory updates to the DGLs, DGAs, Packing Instructions, Variations, and any other type of regulatory content for Q3 2021. Listed below are examples of key changes:
- 49CFR
- Revised multiple Packing Instructions.
- Updated the header for Explosive Packing Instructions.
- Updated the Orange ERG pages in the DGA.
- ADR
- Added split entries for multiple materials for ADR French
- Corrected the Proper Shipping Name for multiple materials for ADR French.
- Revised Limited Quantity Packing Instructions in DGL for UN0511, UN0512, and UN0513.
- Revised Special Packing Provisions PP96 and PP97 in DGA.
- AFMAN
- Added corrections to the AFMAN 24-604 DGA and DGL.
- Maritime
- EMS Special Case message has been updated in the DGA for UN3363 and UN3548.
- Added corrections to Special Provisions 172, 363, 379, 390, and 388.
- Made additions to Packing Instructions P003, P206, P622, P801, and IBC520.
- Added entry for UN2913 Class 7 SCO-III.
- UPS Domestic
- Updated the labels required for UN3363.
- Updated the LTD QTY max per package for UN2920.
- Updated the packing instructions for UN3252 and UN1046.
- UPS International
- Added Special Provisions for UN3481 and UN3091.
- Updated Proper Shipping Name for UN1802 from “Perchloric acid” to “Perchloric acid, 50% or less acid, by weight”.
DGIS Functionality
Functionality improvements
- AFMAN
- UN3528 is now allowed to be packaged in the same package and overpack with all other Classes/Divisions.
- Miscellaneous
- Shipment Collections have been removed from DGIS.
- Correct orientation labels will show on the Label Diagram when shipping a liquid.
- For web services, the ShipmentName field in the request will now be available in the response for the CreateShipment and ValidateShipment services.
- Advanced Alignment Update
- The printed data is now better spaced on the forms and the user has the option of adjusting that data by the margins instead of individual fields.
- The Font Size can be adjusted for the entire Header, Details, or Footer of a form instead of individual fields.
- Any existing alignment settings will no longer be supported after the launch of DGIS 4.4.
- Report Layout Editor Update
- Functionality is added that allows users to edit the material/packaging details for the Maritime IMO Declaration and Multimodal Forms from the Print Shipment screen.
- After processing a shipment, the user can click on a button that allows them to re-type and override the packaging, material, quantity, Gross/Net mass, and Cube information.
- Any existing Report Layout settings will no longer be supported after the launch of DGIS 4.4 and the Report Layout Editor screen will be removed.
Bug Fixes - While there are several bug fixes included in this release, a list of highlighted bug fixes can be found below.
- ADR
- Deselecting the User Option “Print Address in International Format” will have the postal code print after the state in both the shipper and consignee addresses on the CMR form.
- Text will scale or line break appropriately to ensure that all words are visible and legible when printing shipments with multiple languages on the CMR form.
- IATA
- Outer packaging type list for materials with Packing Instruction 863 have been corrected for Single Packaging.
- Maritime
- The “Print Data Only for Maritime” User Option will only affect Maritime shipments.
- Gross Weight (Mass) for Non-hazardous materials will print on IMO Declaration.
- Miscellaneous
- When “Print Data Only” User Option is selected, page numbers will print without the “page” text.
- For Parts, Exemptions will only appear on the Sample Label Diagram for the indicated regulation modes when the Exemption were added to the part.
- When the authorization is deleted, all fields associated with it should be will be removed as well.
- No error will show when adding a part with multiple exemptions to a shipment.
- On Laser forms, quantities will not overlap when Decimal Place Rounding is set to 10.
- The “Net Explosive Quantity” text will not automatically show on the Sample Label Diagram under the Parts module.
- The text for the Airport of Destination on the Shipper’s Declaration forms has been corrected.
- TDG
- The material sequence will show correctly for TDG French shipments with Reportable Quantity.
- The Equivalency Certificate will not appear on the Label Diagram.
- The correct Limited Quantity label will show on the Label Diagram for a TDG Passenger Vessel shipment.
