DGIS 5.4 Release Notes (7/27/2025)

DGIS Content

Update Highlights – This release will include regulatory updates to the DGLs, DGAs, Packing Instructions, Variations, and any other type of regulatory content for Q3 2025. Listed below are examples of key changes:

• 49CFR
  • Updated placard for UN1891 Ethyl bromide on the DGL to 3(6.1)   
  • Updated DGL, UN3534 will no longer include packing instruction “421” for FedEx shipments

• IATA
  • Incorporated the 2025 IATA's Addendum 1 changes to various regulatory content
  • Provided updates to the 2025 IATA DGL and DGA Content, per the review of the 2025 IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, 66th Edition eBook
  • Provided updates to IATA Packing Instructions, per the review of the 2025 IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, 66th Edition eBook
  • Revised specific material's net quantity limitations for validation
  • Updated FX-02 (e) Warning Message

• IMDG
  • Updated the Packing Instructions, per the review of the 2024 IMDG eBook
  • Updated the IMO DGL and DGA Content, per the review of the 2024 IMDG eBook

• ADR
  • Revised ADR Column 9(a) in the DGA
  • Updated the 2025 ADR DGL and DGA Content, per the review of the 2025 ADR eBook
  • Reviewed the 2025 Spanish ADR publication for changes to the Spanish DGL
• FedEx
  • Revised Fields in the 49 CFR DGL that been updated due to FedEx’s new Ground Hazardous Materials Table published on June 20, 2024 

DGIS Functionality

Functionality improvements - This release will include DGIS functionality improvements for Q3 2025. Listed below are examples of key changes:

• General Changes
  • Added optional "Battery Content Fields" on the material screen for lithium battery materials.
    • These can be leveraged from Custom Rules to determine when certain actions are applicable based on battery characteristics. (Enterprise feature only.)
• Material Profiles *New feature*
  • Added a new screen under the 'Administration' tab for creating Material Profiles. Material Profiles are a centralized collection of material and part data across regulations. Material Profiles enable administrators to define profiles by material class, apply them to parts, and configure custom rules. More details can be found in our Material Profiles article. (Enterprise feature only.)
• Custom Rules *New feature*
  • Added a new 'Custom Rules' screen under the 'Administration' tab, this feature enhances administrative control by supporting rule-based overrides and validations, including the ability to downgrade shipments, populate fields, and attach documents. More details can be found in our Custom Rules article. (Enterprise feature only.)
• IMDG
  • Added several IBC outer package UN codes for the IMO shipping paper
    • "31A"
    • "31B"
    • "31N"
    • "31HA1"
    • "31H1"
    • "31H2"
    • "31HZ1"
• ADR
  • Added user option: "Print Transport Category in Columns with Cumulated Net Value"
• Miscellaneous
  • Enhanced error message to provide clearer feedback when the Unit of Measurement is not specified
  • Enhanced part search functionality to support exact match queries using quotation marks. Users can now enclose search terms in double quotes (e.g. "Part123") to return only exact matches.
